My Own Funeral Program (It was Homework)
Front Cover Inside Pages
No I am not dieing anytime soon! This was a class assignment for my Communications: Interpersonal Class. How many people have the chance to make their own funeral program? It was definitely the strangest assignment I have had in this class. The point of it was to realize how much of an impact we have on our families and friends. It gave us a chance to figure out who we would want to participate in our “last goodbye.”
Each person in my family has a different relationship with me, which played a big part in deciding who does what. It made me think of what family members would say about me. It’s kind of morbid, but have you ever thought of your speakers or pallbearers at your funeral?
Motorbiking in Wyoming
Duston, Tim (brother-in-law) and I went motorbiking on memorial day. It was my first time and a lot of fun. Not to mention it was fun dressing up in the suit and helmet. For some reason we didn’t get any pictures of Duston riding, sorry dust!
Check out my school website!
I posted my Photography Assignments (Art 160)! Don’t judge too hard, I’m just a beginner. Hope you like em. I’ll post more through out the semester. http://dustonkatie.blogspot.com/
A Kid Ate My Apple!
I don’t usually blog about stories but this one made me really mad. Everyday I pack my lunch for school: PB&J, granola bar and my favorite part, an apple.
I was in my communications class. My teacher told everyone to bring a sack lunch that day for an activity. We sat on the floor in a circle. Our teacher read a story, every time the word “right” was said, you passed it right, if “left” was said, you passed to your left.
At the end of the story, we all had different lunches. Our teacher said to go ahead and eat your new lunch (just to get the reaction and discussion from the class on how we felt about it). Of course, no one but three boys actaully started eating the lunch THAT WAS NOT THEIRS.
The kid that had my lunch (I won’t describe him because I have nothing nice to say about him) started EATING MY APPLE!!!! Because we were still sitting in a circle he sat straight across from me and I gave him the dirtiest looks as he chowed down on my delicious apple! I could not believe my eyes.
He then pulled out my sandwich but I couldn’t take it. I was like “dude, don’t eat my sandwich too!” He put that down and didn’t touch the rest of my lunch. When class was over, we made no eye contact and I walked over there and rescued my lunch.
A Date in the Park
Dust and I brought sandwich’s to Smith Park and used our new camera. We had a a lot of fun, we took a ton of pictures. When we get the chance to, we take our camera on walks and take pictures for my photography class. I’ll put up those pics on my school blog
Photography, Photography!
We are now into the Spring Semester at BYU-Idaho, and things are moving right a long. So I’m in my first photography class, and quickly learned that the school only rents out FILM cameras, which in my opinion is way “old school”. Not only do you have to load film, you only get about 18 shots per roll. Then the process to develop and enlarge film is time-consuming. Loading the reel in pitch black, pouring the right amount of chemicals, aggitating correctly while watching the clock like a hawk is no fun when you find out you ruined half the film strip because you touched it! Sure, the enlarging process is exciting to see a picture magically appeared when dipped in the right chemical, but who has the time for all that? I don’t, and since Duston and I both really enjoy photograpy we purchased a Nikon D5000 DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera. Ok so it is refurbished, and one of the cheapest “nice” cameras you can get, it will work fine for us entry-level photographers. And I can’t wait to start shooting some sweet pictures!
On the side note here is an update of our lives- Duston is busy in school and working as an IT guy in the Library. He only has one semester left after this one! Duston’s dad had a seven-bypass-open-heart surgery two weeks ago, he is now home from the hospital and healing nicely.
I am now a first semester Junior! I love all my communications classes, but both my video and math classes are lame so far, but I am sure I will learn something useful. I am on a basketball team too, I practice twice a week at 6am. We have a game every friday, our first one is this week so I am excited. I am still working at Artic Circle but not as much, since my other job as a student secretary is WAY better! I even got a 5 cent raise, yeah!
Easter and General Conference

Reggie and Belinda came over, we ate awesome delicious hamburgers, watched conference and colored eggs.
